Pilofy is changing its concept: “From appointments to receipts, your workflow in one place”

Pilofy’s direction is changing. It used to be an app that organizes notes automatically. Now it ties documents, appointments, business cards, notes, and receipts into one flow, so you can manage your whole workflow in one place.

Hi, this is Pilofy.
The next update will change how the app looks and what it can do.
Our plans and direction have shifted, so we wanted to tell you here first, before the update arrives.

At first, it was a note app that organizes itself

Pilofy started out as an app where you jot something down lightly and AI organizes it automatically, so it’s easy to find later.
The goal was simple: drop in anything, and your notes get sorted into the right categories, so they’re easy to find and pleasant to read when you come back to them.

But as the app took shape, it ended up with so many features that it became hard to describe Pilofy in a single sentence. Every one of those features also had plenty of similar apps to compare against.

From appointments to receipts, your workflow in one place

From here on, Pilofy will become an app that connects your entire workflow.

Pilofy’s new concept: “From appointments to receipts, your workflow in one place.”

We’re shaping Pilofy for people who want to keep their work organized, simply, from just their phone.

Pilofy starts from a meeting.

  • Jot down an appointment casually, and Pilofy saves it to your calendar as an event.
  • Take a photo of the business card you receive and save it.
You choose whether it stays in Pilofy’s own contacts only or is also saved to your iOS contacts.
  • Note down the key points of a conversation right on the spot.
We also plan to add a way to bring notes into a document on your desktop later, so you can flesh them out quickly.
  • After a meal, snap the receipt you’ll need as proof of the expense and save it.

Existing features haven’t changed much.
The AI that organizes your notes works just as before; what changes is how you use the app and the flow of it.

What changes in the next update

  • We’ve reorganized the first-launch screens and the guide around the order of your workday, and swapped in new sample notes.
  • A calculator is coming, covering basic math, tax and tip, and splitting a bill evenly.
You can put the result straight into a note.
  • A dedicated meeting note is being added, with fields for date and time, attendees, agenda, decisions, to-dos, and next meeting.
  • Roulette and Pocket Ledger are being removed.
  • The Diary, Flashcard, and Travel categories are going away.
Travel is no longer kept separate from Event, so a travel note you add is organized as an Event.

For the categories that are going away, the notes you’ve already saved are moved to Simple Note and kept there.

Supported languages and regions are narrowing.
We’re going from 15 languages down to 5 and focusing on them: Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese (Traditional), and Vietnamese.
Supported countries and regions: South Korea, the United States, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macao, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Singapore, and the Philippines.

Timing, and a request

After the update, some categories will no longer be available. We’ll announce the exact update date on this blog later.

We’re sorry if the sudden change took you by surprise.
We kept working to make Pilofy more useful, and that led us to change its concept. We hope you’ll understand.
If something feels inconvenient or an AI result looks off, please write to note@pilofy.app.
We’ll look into it and incorporate it into an upcoming update.

Thank you.
